from fabric to skirt in 5 minutes.

Sewing class today was actually really good. We've moved on from making our shirts to making skirts. Who knew you could do so much with a skirt, it literally blew my mind.
After we put in an invisible zip and darts in our skirt we practiced 3D modelling with fabric to create to a new design for a skirt.
It was defiantly a good team effort by me and Zoe.

Proud is an understatement.

blah blah blah.

Just got back from a meeting to be part of Heriot Watt Uni fashion magazine. It actually sounds really good. Journalism is defiantly something that I'm interested in and want to do in the future after studying Fashion Communication. I love to just sit and write about fashion and what’s going on in my life. So being part of the magazine is defiantly for me.
The awkward first meeting, choosing a name. It is harder than you think to come up with names! I put a few in there but let’s just see what happens.
I put my name down to be a fashion writer. I've had a little experience writing for my sixth form online magazine as a fashion writer but that’s about it, so hopefully being involved in this can help me in the future.

ELLE here i come.

Because I'm a student.

I'm really looking forward to this weekend after a messy “Galaween” last weekend. Dressed up as a dead doll with all of the people on my floor roaming the streets of Gala, just a normal Thursday, right? Seriously it was a really good night though. I'm from Newcastle but I've never been too drunk to go out, being put to bed at half 11 on a Saturday night is a epic fail. All that effort to get dressed up to not go out.
The shame.

Women's Wear assignment.

Well the deadline for my first assignment for Women's wear has just passed. It was such a good feeling handing it all in, believe me. So much hard work went into it.. I had to design and make a shirt inspired by Scottish Heritage. The obvious things come to mind, such as tartan, but i had to think outside of the box.
I decided to go for the classic, royal inspired look. My shirt had a simple silhouette, capped sleeves, and a peter pan collar, i know, it does sound good right? Well sewing isn’t my strongest point, because I'm a fashion communication student, but still i have it my best shot and at least it turned out alright actually! 6 weeks and god knows how many late nights paid off in the end.
I was just messing around on WGSN when i came across, Christopher Kane's spring/summer 2012 collection which showed at London Fashion Week this year. In his collection i found a simple but beautiful shirt which i wish i was very impressed with.

Obviously it’s not got anything on mine...
